Haha, I feel like I will be an eternally fixed term academic so serendipity seems like a defining characteristic of my career

I mean of the various things I wrote this year one was inspired by a random visit to an exhibition that triggered a whole mini research project, another was an invited chapter after I ran into a colleague on a mountain and ranted about something as we walked back down. 🤷‍♀️

The worst. Things like word grammar used to be mildly useful pointing out commas and fixing em-dashes.

It's OK though as your 'education team' has new workshops ready on how to make the rest of your teaching labour easier using generative AI... 😵‍💫

Interesting study for thinking about 'digital research platforms', which generally add extra labour to the research process, often for little gain.
