3/3 What do they expect will happen now that it’s too late? Too bad their shortsightedness is going to take the rest of us into disaster with them. (Sorry to be such a downer on the eve of a holiday, but I’m having difficulty being positive about much of anything today.)

2/3 Oh, yes, and all those farmers who now realize they voted to deport the only workers who are willing to do the backbreaking labor of planting and harvesting our food. Where were their brains when we TOLD them what would happen?

When we can’t fix things for people we care about, like elderly relatives or children or old friends, we deal with guilt on top of the grief. We’re getting older, and don’t bounce as well as we used to, either physically or emotionally. It makes me very, very tired.
