Today, the Canadian Association of University Teachers and my own university both issued strong warnings about travel to the USA. We are right on the border and we used to think nothing of going to the USA for lunch, early in my career. This is a sobering time.

Given the rapidly evolving political landscape in the United States and reports of individuals encountering difficulties crossing the border, CAUT strongly recommends that academic staff travel to the U.S. only if essential and necessary.
