Working on my oil painting skills and learning a realistic style called tromp l’oeil i.e. deceive the eye. These days we just take a photo of a loaf of bread and glass of wine but back in the day artists had to be meticulous. What do you think of it? Did I fool your eye? Sorta?

I’m in Florida and taking an online oil painting. Here’s my first animal, a spoonbill. IDK about you but I’m glad I have something new to keep me busy and away from toxic politics. Make your own joy season for me.

What positive happy things are you doing this week?

Earlier this week, I had the pleasure of attending Christ Lutheran Church’s Reformation Art Show. Here’s one of my pieces featured in the exhibit. It was a fantastic night filled with music, food, and great conversations about my art. So grateful for the experience!

My first post!

🌿 These are works in progress, blending paint and collage papers on wood board to create contemporary depictions of Mary and Jesus.

✨ Each layer tells a part of the story.

💫 Stay tuned as these pieces continue to evolve.
