Finally got the chance to see the Northern Lights in the Midwest. Saw a couple of posts about it in real time and ran outside. I was not disappointed.

The one on the plane is so good! Last year, there were three smaller ones, but this one is better imo. I do kind of like the longhorn though.

It's not everyday that you get a special delivery of stroopwafels from the Netherlands! 😍 Thank you to Roy Tomeij and AppSignal for their generosity. It put a huge smile on my face! I also love the Developer Dilemmas card deck and will have fun playing these with some of my developer friends soon.

It was great hosting colleagues from London in Plano this week and a perfect opportunity to extend some Texas-style hospitality, including fun with cowboy hats and some world-class barbecue from Hutchins. I've learned that Texas Twinkies are 10/10. Love that my work is a passport to the world. 🤠

I've walked past this deserted alcove at Dallas Love Field Airport a number of times and only recently realized its significance. It overlooks the site where Air Force One was parked when LBJ took the oath of office. On the wall is a replica of a bronze plaque embedded in the taxiway at that spot.

I am using an Epson FastFoto FF-680W scanner. You can scan a stack at a time quickly. It saves a copy of the original photo, an auto-enhanced version, and a copy of the back, if it detects handwriting. I love the color restoration. Here is a more dramatic example of a pic of my great-grandmother.

Did a volunteer day at a nursing home today. The Gingerbread Boy stopped by and brought a lot of smiles to faces, including mine. Some people are pointing out that he is a little bit scary looking. I guess the residents are used to it, lol.

I must have gotten this adorable beanie at PyCascades 2019, then forgotten about it when shelter in place happened a month later. I found it again yesterday, and I can't wait to wear it. Coincidentally, the PyCascades 2025 schedule was announced yesterday.

I am approaching my two-year anniversary working at JPMorganChase. My first day was November 28, 2022. It has flown by and has been quite an adventure, personally and professionally. I feel fortunate to have an opportunity like this.
