An update!

I’m two weeks in to my new position as a senior counterterrorism analyst at the Afghanistan War Commission after 14 years at AEI. Grateful for the opportunity to serve in a different capacity. Grateful for the opportunities, experiences, and particularly my colleagues.

Jake Sullivan says US officials in talks with other countries to set up a "maritime task force of sorts" to help ensure "safe passage of ships in the Red Sea," according to Lara Seligman.

Unclear how different from CTF-153, stood up in 2022 to enhance the security and stability in the Red Sea...

US determined a coup occurred in Niger, suspending foreign assistance programs that had been paused since Aug 5.

Coups—even before today—challenged US approach to CT in the Sahel & created opportunities for competitors.
