I failed this exam. My various guesses were: fates of chairs of post-WWII Senate committees (Judiciary, Foreign Relations, Armed Services), but either the deaths or resignations would be off. At first I thought the Dem who became VP was Biden, but what if it were Gore? Anyway, I'm still curious.
