I learned so much *fiction* in Alabama history classes. I had it in 4th & again in high school (required). Justifications of slavery, of Jim Crow. Condemnation of the post-CW state government, of Reconstruction. You are not alone in your anger.

Both of my kids’ schools do a universal permission slip for field trips at the start of the year.
I thought it was the way now, but maybe it’s only a private school trend bc of liability risks?
