The movie The Apartment is such a great example of inflation and cost of living. He tells us he makes $95 a week, and his UWS apartment is $85 a month. In today’s dollars that would be $55k a year and $927 a month.
Can anyone imagine paying less than one week’s paycheck for one month’s rent?
