Framing metrics have become insanely overrated. We complain about umps but give catchers 100% of the credit. And they’ll be gone in a few years. ABs will kill them. We’re talking about 2005-2025ish. How is it fair to anyone else who’s ever been on the ballot to use framing?

Using JAWS and just not caring about the remainder of the career is also a major issue. But framing is never a good enough reason to make someone a Hall of Famer. I think Russell Martin would be the worst HOFer of my lifetime if he makes it.
