A vote by those who have already expressed opposition to the ACA subsidies? This will not extend them for those in need. It will not “shame” the GOP; they’re public about their posture. Yes, the shutdown needs to end. But not this way. It emboldens their cruelty. You made a huge mistake.

If ending the shutdown without securing an extension on ACA subsidies is acceptable Senate leaders, why shut the govt down in the first place? Thank you for voting no. Senate Dems can’t give without also getting…for their constituents.

Thank you. I hope your colleagues listen. If not, why did they shut down the government in the first place?

Yes. It’s necessary and glad they are sticking to it but this is the only leverage they have. Unmasking ICE and other things could be on their slate.

Sure…and? The democrats need the courage of their convictions. Glad you haven’t caved on the shut down. The asks are too small but good for holding. Now what is your vision? Who is your leader? What is your message?

I see. You are making a broader theological claim. I made a narrower textual claim. I’m gonna be leaving this here as I don’t think we are conversing but “coming at” each other. Suffice it to say, I neither said nor would want to change Jewish theology or identity.

Moreover, the “Old Testament” and the TNK are not the same. Differently ordered to tell different stories. Accompanied by other writings to create different people. But same deity included in both.

It’s not about authority. Jesus was a Jew. His initial followers were both Jewish and not. Quickly after his death a new religion grew out of him with its own set of scriptures. New interpretations. Same God. Differently interpreted. There is no separate “Old Testament” God.

It is. That is why it absolutely must be refuted.

Yes. It is the same deity.

Too small. Necessary, yes, and thank you for holding. But that is not enough. This is not politics as usual.

Yes. It’s the same God.

We all know the problems. What are the Dems doing to be a true oppositional party. You are in total disarray.
