After a period of many challenging years and with a safer street and more transportation options Uptown is poised for an upswing.

I for one am so excited to be part of a caring and engaged community that's ready to seize it!

The new Hennepin Ave was officially opened today!
It's a major milestone for the Uptown community. 1/

Trump & Speaker Johnson want us to be isolated, complacent, and scared.

Instead, we’re together, standing for our rights, and joyful.

They say we hate America.

Instead, today I saw more American flags wave than I typically see fly on July 4th.

Finding joy is part of the resistance (so is taking out your feelings in a non destructive way).

Be part of it this Saturday at Oktoberfest as we kick off our reelection campaign and continue our efforts to build a more just, resilient, and thriving MN!

Data shows that rural Minnesota households in utility territories across the state would see lower costs from switching to electric air source heat pumps, which are 2-4x more efficient than propane furnaces. www.mnashp.org/cost-heat-co...

Remember: when you see ads from fossil fuel companies, ask yourself - are they trying to serve you or keep themselves in business?

As someone who worked in energy for over a decade, I can say that we do not need propane powered homes, & MN has one of the most reliable grids in the US.

Congrats to @sustainstpaul.bsky.social and @moreneighbors.org on hosting a great Sibling Rivalry debate!

While it was fun to pick on Saint Paul for, we know that ultimately this sibling rivalry helps us both evolve stronger policies that benefit real people.

There is so much work still to be done to build a more just, resilient, and thriving Minnesota, and our work at the state legislature is just getting started.

Join us as we launch our 2026 re-election campaign at Oktoberfest!

Thanks to all who joined in the fun at our Mini Frisbee Tournament fundraiser yesterday!

To my chagrin, Team 61B, which started the day with @jamiemlong.bsky.social, totally dominated and won the cupcake prize!

In no other country would an elected say that school shootings are a "fact of life."

We know gun violence is preventable through smart gun control.

But JD Vance gives up on what actually would protect kids, as noted in his Sept. 2024 comments. This attitude & his presence are not welcome in Mpls.

Last night, 100s came out to remember, honor, and center the victims of yesterday’s devastating mass shooting at Annunciation. A beautiful vigil that should never have had to be held.

The last month has been heavy at the state and federal levels, but there is joy to be found in our local community.

The Uptown Farmers Market on Thursdays 4-8pm at Lake and Girard is a good time :)

Who is in need of some positivity?

How about a pool party full of joy, solidarity, and community spirit?

I'm co-hosting a fundraiser on Wed. 7/16 to support Katie Cashman in her campaign for re-election to the Minneapolis City Council!

Walkable, mixed use communities create positive feedback loops. Not only do they support resident health and wellbeing, community building, and diverse local business, they do an impressive job of funding local public services.

I shouldn't be surprised. Yet, I am

I thought it was a given that transpo costs as a % of household expenses would be higher for lower incomes, just like housing, food, etc.

But no! Data shows, when cities are built well (i.e. compact, walkable, transit-rich), low income ppl spend less on transpo!

Trump/DOGE cuts have hit many community members so far. Ultimately, no one is immune.
My service w/ MN GreenCorps was my full-year job. I supported public govts w/ energy efficiency management for a small stipend. It's crushing that AmeriCorps & PeaceCorps are being gutted for billionaire tax cuts.
