The categories are still there, you just have to click on them in the left sidebar instead of having them as tabs on top.

I'm so mad that they tied that to AI when they clearly don't need to, since we had it for years without!

When I turned that off, the tabs "Updates, Promotions, Social, InBox" were deleted by default. The tabs that existed BEFORE Gemini. #rage
