It was interesting to see Hamilton a day after Ragtime, because they both touch on the American dream, but Ragtime I think has aged better (despite being older). Whatever optimism it has, it still has the realistic dread of "It will happen again, and again, and again..."

Hamilton: I couldn't miss seeing LOJ. He was amazing, but the audience was horrendous. The songs are forever catchy, but the show's optimism for America aged poorly almost immediately.

Death Becomes Her: I've been wanting to see Megan Hilty in something for years, and she didn't disappoint. Fun effects and a good time, but a little forgettable.

Ragtime: If Joshua Henry doesn't win a Tony for this, it is a crime against humanity. I saw the second preview so they had some audio kinks to sort out, unfortunately. Some of the backdrops could be better. Younger Brother was an unexpected standout as well, for how small his role is.

Oh Mary!: Very disappointed by this one. It was 90% yelling, which isn't something I find particularly funny. Booth was hilarious, however.

Maybe Happy Ending: I think the hype for this one maybe got my expectations too high. It was cute, but not life changing. Always love Arden's direction though, and the firefly scene was magnificent. Sad I missed Darren Criss.

Hadestown: The 7th time seeing my favourite show. Wolfe as Orpheus was the standout. 2nd favourite Orpheus after Ihouma. The joy I feel seeing this show cannot be matched.

It was a mistake to see this show first, because nothing is as good as Hadestown.
