My online self is exactly like my real self expect that's not my last name and nobody but my wife calls me Katie.
The US is more or less subsumed in the belief it's the role of private citizens, business and religious orgs to provide relief. So it happens a lot honestly. But bigotry, as ever, overwhelmingly controls outcomes in private donations.

So I have to say the replies are understandably skeptical, but the answer is yes provided 1) they will look good and 2) the cause is politically safe, and 3) victims have a cis het white bias. Usually in many millions if it's a disaster.

Which is bad in many ways. But it's more complex than no.

It's simply the case very few examples exist in the English speaking market of open licenses to use or adapt settings. Mechanics for games? Yes. But few settings.

And *no* others I can think of allow for the express creation of what would be derivative goods like an art book or character model.

A thing I think is often overlooked is the entire season was built on fantastic parallelism about listening to other people and accepting help when you are breaking contrasted with a world view centered on other people as discardable tools.

The last episode is about the consequences of the above.

Don't get me wrong I rather Sera show up somewhere other than a Pride anthology but if even one "guy" who has complicated feelings about liking women more then any other "guy" he knows, but "the wrong way somehow" likes Angela and looks her up to understand the reference...

It's a name drop. But...

And that is way more restricted.

Shared works anthologies were common for a bit in the US market, mostly pre Internet boom, but worked under a structure where you owned your contribution but had to be invited personally.

The thing in anglophone market that looks closest, and still not, might be the World of Darkness open license.

Alyson has been making it much more express in book 4, but like Christine mistaking anxiety for fact, it's been there the whole time.

Also both settings have about the same number of cis het people.
November 24, 2025 at 8:24 PM
Been arguing to explain that with people for like three and a half years now.

@gracewells1.bsky.social and I's first and current primary shared fandoms tbh. Far from the only but...

And yes.

2/ and finally 5) with the intent to leave as radically different people.

And both are, in the end, about how almost nobody is beyond saving.

If I had a nickel, ect...

1/ My two favorite things in any media right now are about 1) large buildings that can house many people, 2) where people who have done very bad things, 3) get deprogrammed, taught how to love themselves, and seek redemption, in the hands, of 4) fairly messed up people with imperfect tools,...

Honestly with the express statement "it was mostly about Dorley starting about back before the first book was finished" this is about how I met my wife.

( Ask Zoe or Alyson -they were there. )

Gonna be honest - I think I can say with some certainty getting to write that and dropping 1k with ease might be related.

Add in "if I liked this specific thing I saw or read or played as a kid it has no woke elements" coping tool you see when bigots frame how Star Trek was not "woke" before like 2015 or the memetic image of the idiot going 0% woke to FF7.
November 23, 2025 at 8:00 PM
That's the bottom line really.
November 23, 2025 at 7:54 PM
As for Nifty?

I also have considered this may be long-term set up for a defining narrative moment designed to guide any audience, who at that time still have hope for Alastor as a "hero," past that view when he betrays even her for his goals. Provide a definite rubicon.

Random thought here on sinner/winner forms - it seems possible there is a default "this is ok and I do not have dysmorphia" effect.

Related: I keep thinking about Baxter and if his design, in a purely zoological sense, is intent or opps. I have no idea but it's trans-inclusive setting ect

Finally,in biblical symbolism Roses are associated with someone very different iirc, but so far the setting has not used expressly Christian-only pop mythology in favor of the usual mix of Old Testament, Kabbalah and legacy of Dante/Milton pop Mythology. So this would be a strange swerve.

Also it would be a weirdly funny cinephile pun for people obsessed with big reveals in stories. But that is just me free associating.
