September reading wrap up! Very clearly hyperfixated on horror audiobooks. 🤣 This is quite high in terms of books read but I have been really enjoying horror lately. Also 95% of these are thanks to my local library. 💕

Good morning, I planted my fall garden and things are already growing!! Such a small thing but literally get so excited seeing these tiny little baby plants break through the soil. Also featuring a very late, tiny jalapeepee.

August top artists and albums. A great month of releases and also excited for what’s coming out soon. What did your August listening look like?

Not a great reading month. For some reason very few stories really gripped me although I discovered my favorite audiobook of When the Tides Held the Moon.

Got my fall seeds planted today. The only sad thing about summer ending is that my summer garden is fading out. I can’t believe how well it went on a little apartment balcony. I learned a too. And still learning. Hopefully I’ll see some new sprouts soon. Here’s a few pictures of my summer garden.

Finished this cross stitch today! Pattern is by NeedlePop Crafts. Love this Twin Peaks quotation and feels like I’m internally screaming this always.

In the midst of all the *gestures everywhere* I grew my first cucumber. A small thing, but it has made a world of a difference in my summer mental health working on a garden this year.

My first cucumber is coming in! I grew this!!

Some horror books I’ve enjoyed lately:
Someone You Can Build a Nest In by John Wiswell (sapphic, funny, cozy horror romance)

They Bloom at Night by Trang Thanh Tran (ecological horror, self discovery)

Goddess of Filth (audiobook) by V. Castro (The Craft vibes)

Cucumbers are blooming. 💛 I love having a garden.

Finished Transmogrify last night. It’s an incredible anthology full of so much magic and joy. There’s great variety in stories (even a sentient magic school?!). They always have happy endings which is my favorite part. app.thestorygraph.com/books/f54318...

Loved loved loved this book. Especially since my hold became available right when I also got to see Sinners. The horror aspects are some of my favorite and the characters are well developed even in a book under 200 pages. Highly recommend! app.thestorygraph.com/books/367bcd...

Read Hammajang Luck and it was phenomenal. A 5 star read for me and I’m not really into heist stories. Highly, highly recommend, especially if you like found family. app.thestorygraph.com/books/d865e0...

I loved reading every moment of this book. I also couldn’t put it down. Even though it’s sci-fi, I think this has elements that any fiction lover would enjoy. It’s a book I very much needed in this moment. Really amazing read and highly recommend.

I JUST GOT THIS!!! Literally gasped.

This year in reading has really surprised me. I randomly put this on hold after seeing someone talk about how much they liked this (usually with people I don’t know I wait for multiple recommendations). It’s got some really incredible writing but the story was hard to sit with (which is intentional)

Finished my last read for the #trr25! Such a great graphic novel that brought me a lot of joy. I’m hoping to watch the movie this weekend.

My second finish for the #trr25 and it very quickly became one of my favorite books. This anthology is incredible. Each story was so captivating and filled with a lot of happy endings. ❤️ Would highly recommend checking this out!

My first finish of the #transrightsreadathon! This surprised me in the best ways. It was gory and gross and I loved it. Khaw’s writing is incredible. It’s beautifully descriptive of the most disgusting things (compliment). Really enjoyed this one!! #ttr25 app.thestorygraph.com/books/cc33dd...

Finally narrowed my #transrightsreadathon books for this year! This starts tomorrow and I can’t wait to read these. #trr25

Another finish for the year! I super enjoyed the audiobook. The storytelling was so good that I didn’t want it to end. The magical realism was really fascinating and it has a strong focus on family (and all the fun things that come with that). app.thestorygraph.com/books/55c69a...

Another audiobook finish for this year! Loved the lore of this book quite a lot. And who doesn’t love mermaids?

Finished re-listening to David Lynch’s Catching the Big Fish. I immediately started it over after my original listen. It’s the lightness I needed right now, especially as a creative person. I listened to this via Libby and hearing David’s voice was really comforting.

First batch of fresh bread loaves done. I didn’t get it quite right but I’ll keep at it. I’m hoping to make my own bread at home (trying to participate in the economy the least I can and this is cheaper than store bought).
