I had a coworker who got hit by a car running a red light while he was on the clock. He was out for like 6-9 months because of his injuries, the department van was totaled, and it was a very scary time. Luckily he was actually working so he got workman’s comp for that accident. (1/2)

Unpopular opinion but I’m glad that daylight savings time is over. DST is not the reason it stays light out later in the summer, and standard time isn’t the reason it gets dark earlier in the winter. That’s just what season are.

So now both of my teenage coworkers are trying to get me fired for my “attitude” (read: expecting them to know how to do their jobs and actually do them) and I made it about 3 hours at work before being completely over it ✌️

I just realized what’s bugging me about all of the Discourse™️ surrounding Taylor Swift’s new album. It’s a similar thing that happened when John Mulaney got divorced and had his first kid. People are taking one aspect of these celebrities and projecting it onto them as their entire personality (1)

I just realized that no matter who wins the game tomorrow, it is at WORST a neutral outcome for the jags (3-1), and at BEST a neutral outcome for the chiefs (2-2), and it has renewed my cockiness about wearing a jags shirt to work tomorrow around all the chiefs fans lol

I have a friend from KC and she’s a huge chief’s fan, so I feel like I’m wishing ill on her whenever I get joy out of something bad happening to Harrison Butker, but also he’s a terrible person so I still feel joy whenever something bad happens to him 😌

lol I live in Chiefs’ kingdom and I can’t help but feel a little smug that, as of right now, my team, the notoriously mediocre Jacksonville Jaguars (they did make the conference championship a few years ago!!), has a better record than them lolol

I feel like this is going to end up being like the OK hand signal and a bunch of people are going to lose all sense of nuance and let these losers taint another thing that’s not inherently political, or even left-wing, with their irony poisoning.

So I thought that one of the reasons we had to accept the fascist takeover of America was because gas prices were going up????

This whole thing is so surreal to me because I just went to DC at the beginning of the month, like a week before this mess started, and I remember explicitly thinking about how safe everything was.
AND we walked and took the metro basically everywhere we went, as very obvious non-locals.

I’m trying to get access to my undergraduate thesis and it turns out all of that was saved on my school google drive that no longer exists, and apparently I don’t have remote library access anymore either 😭

Because I have such a niche degree and career history, I feel like I need to go back to school in order to get a better paying job, but also I can’t afford to go back to school because I don’t get paid enough 🥲

So Bank of America reduced my credit limit by $600 for, as far as I can tell because no one will actually tell me why, accidentally underpaying a single time, which I resolved in less than a week, and they rejected my request to restore the previous credit limit.
