As the debate goes on about deliverism, about "wokeness," and about what agenda resonates, perhaps it's worth considering this sentiment from Gen-Z: “All those debates about choosing between ‘identity politics’ and economic populism? They’re based on a false premise when it comes to young voters.”

Young people aren’t checked out; they feel betrayed by leaders whose choices have led us here, and disillusioned by years of institutional failure. The politics we need now should be grounded in young people’s moral clarity: honest, values-driven, and urgent.

Mayor-Elect Mamdani’s victory in NYC proved that taking young people seriously works. He dominated in Gen-Z and millennial neighborhoods—AND in places like Flatbush and Canarsie. The coalition is broader than most of the discourse suggests.
