Tried my hand at "visible mending" on a hole in some stretch pants. Happy with the result. #sewing #mending #quiltsky

Ottawa Modern Quilt Guild is doing a Christmas ornament swap. I made 3 rabbits. You can't see but they have large white pompom tails. #quiltsky #Christmas

Finished a baby quilt for my nephew and his wife using a Beatrix Potter panel and a free pattern from Riley Blake. I quilted it with flowers, leaves and words, and added a book of Beatrix Potter stories. I have a fair bit of the panel left so I can make some cuddle quilts for the hospital. #quiltsky

Finished this quilt today. It was made up of blocks that I won at the Ottawa Modern Quilt Guild so an easy quilt to make. Not sure if I'll be donating it or passing it on to a relative.

Finished a charity #quilt today. It's called Sixty Slice and it's a free pattern by Leah Day. Quick and easy to make, it would be a great pattern for layer cake (10" squares of coordinated fabric) that you don't want to cut up too much. #quiltsky

Love these zucchini pancakes.

When I see a tandem #bicycle with a man and woman, the man is on the front. It would make sense to put the taller of the two (usually the man) on the back, giving them both a good view, improving both safety and the experience. This seems like a throwback to #patriarchy giving the man control.

This reminds me of my Curves with the Peacock.

Just finished "The Home for Unwanted Girls" by Joanna Goodman. Heartbreaking and heartwarming as well as informative. The book kept my interest and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I actually listened to the audio book which was very well done. I highly recommend this book. #books #bookreview #booksky

Got married on Monday. A short but very sweet wedding at City Hall in Ottawa. Made some mini-quilts and attached them to cards to thank our 3 friends in attendance. Partially slow-stitched and partially machine stitched. Fun to make.

I'm at a quilt retreat near Buckingham, Quebec. Here's the view from my sewing table. I've completed 5 out of 9 blocs for the "Big Starry Sky" quilt by Beyond the Reef. Each block is 28 1/2 inches square and the quilt finishes at 88 inches square. #quiltsky

Finished my "Curves with Peacock" started in a workshop with Tamara Kate. I'm happy with my straight line quilting but I do find free motion quilting easier. #quiltsky

Scrappy Lone Star by Tara Faughnan is done. I took an online course with Tara which was great. I often have difficulty orienting my fabrics correctly for sewing and this was no exception. I could have used the star as the centre for a larger quilt but decided to make a wheelchair quilt for donation.

Love this sentiment. As a #quiltsky quilter, I have a "couple" of unfinished objects.

Finished 3 quilt tops for donation. Feels great to get some UFOs (unfinished objects) completed.

Hike today in #GatineauPark (Quebec) with my partner, Adam Hunt @gander22h.bsky.social Perfect blue skies and sunshine. Must admit, there were a few streams to ford and I did manage to slip my foot into one of them.

2023 Fall Leaves mystery quilt finally done. I free motioned it on my domestic machine. As I'm doing free motion, I'm always seeing my mistakes but when I see the finished quilt, I don't notice the individual mistakes. They seem to blend in...or is my eyesight going. Ha Ha

Thinking this or a simpler version might be great for an elderly dog or cat that can no longer make the leap onto the bed but still want to be close to you at night.

Took a course from Karen Eckmeier called Happy Villages to make this fabric collage. Had fun using embroidery to finish it.

Finished my first Kawandi style quilt. Just relaxed and didn't worry about stitch length consistency or making anything straight. Really enjoyed the process. #quiltsky #kawandi #slowstitching

First block of the Canadian Quilters Association "True Colours" quilt along. It's called "Embrace". Given that LGBTQ rights continue to be under attack, I'm pleased that the CQA chose to show their support. #quiltsky #humanrights

Second day of cross-country skiing. Did 10k in Gatineau Park to Herridge Shelter and back. Conditions were great. Loved getting out and had chili for supper to top it off. #Ottawa #skiing
