From my afternoon walk with Jasper. We’ve had a blue sky the past two days which makes this early winter weather more bearable. Speaking for myself of course. Jasper is ecstatic. ⛅️🐕❄️

Last garden kale of the season picked Friday. Some of the leaves were under snow! Both beautiful and delicious. 🌱🥬

Strange to be experiencing fall and winter all at once.

We had 20 cm of snow overnight! A good part of it is now on Jasper. 🐕

Have you ever seen someone wear a leaf more perfectly?

Kohlrabi picked from the garden today and the very last flowers of the season. We woke to sub-zero temperatures. The kohlrabi has made its way into a kohlrabi apple salad to accompany tonight’s dinner. 🌱🥗

I have a few this-and-that bouquets around the house. I keep picking flowers and bringing them in, each time thinking the season might be over. It’s so nice to still have fresh garden flowers in November! 🌱

A bouquet of kale headed into dinner and a lone sweet pea bloom on its way into a vase. 🌱 Not bad for a November garden.

I groomed Jasper’s this week. I gave him a bath yesterday morning and trimmed him yesterday and today. I’ve been doing it myself for two years now. It’s amazing how cooperative he is. He’s never restrained and knows he’ll be rewarded with many treats. One ‘after’ and two ‘before’ photos.

Evening walk with the pup. Some kind of beautiful.

He is most definitely an autumn. 🍂

A delicious lunch for Thanksgiving Day with the only tomatoes that managed to ripen in our garden! I’ve brought in the rest, all green. I guess it made us appreciate these ones all the more. #goodlunch #thanksgiving 🇨🇦

Our Thanksgiving meal. Just the two of us this year so I made a favourite meal of turkey risotto with prosciutto and olives. The turkey was frozen from Christmas so it’s double celebratory.

Jasper can be so comical. Among my pet names for him: dork, doofus, ding-dong and, of course, my sweetheart. Zoom in on his eyes.

Some bee love from my garden this week. This late season beauty is so bittersweet. 🌸🐝

I weeded the side garden this afternoon. Good to quiet the brain. 🌱

Same dog a day apart. I groom Jasper myself and it takes two days. Lots of short sessions. We’re both tired at the end of it but proud of our work. He’s so fluffy and smells so good!

A watercolour painting I did this week of my dog Jasper. It's a blissful moment I caught him in a year or so ago when there were early snowflakes in the air. I just love the expression on his face.

I hope you like it! Each time I've made it, it looks different according to the size of the plums and the pattern that I lay them in. Here are a couple I've made. Each an individual!

It's time to play find the leaf! 🍂

Three garden bouquets. This is the time of year when the more flowers inside the better. Earlier in the season I hesitate to bring too many in. 🌱

Concentrating on nature helps a bit. The sky brought to you by this evening’s dog walk.
