When I’m home alone with the pets I tend to sing made up songs to them. My latest: “Do dogs have HOAs?

I’m not sure I’ve ever felt my own mortality more than knowing that Brian Wilson has died. Everything that was youth and hope and fun and the American dream, spoiled by reality, bad choices and the unforgiving march of time. God Only Knows.

I just got back from an overseas trip & got sick while in London. My friend and I spent a day within the National Health system. I felt I received excellent care, my friend was “not impressed.” Guess who’s a Republican? Preconceived notions will beat out actual experience every time I guess.

If, one at a time, we replace our core values, constitutional principles, and moral principles, will we still be the United States of America? We are not our land, most of the land was not ours when the Constitution was written. What are we but our principles? We are not the Ship of Theseus.
