All the focus tonight is on the big races, but that last one is huge. Local government is where decisions that impact daily life are made.

Thank you to @taniel.bsky.social for keeping us updated. He’s a must-follow for anything election related.

People has consistently been doing a better job accurately and concisely coving Trump than the NYT for a while. Every member of Congress should have a staffer keeping tabs on their coverage for tips on better communication.

The answer to “When is it peak leaf season in New Hampshire?” is yesterday.

Let's be gentle - she may have suffered a head injury. It's the most reasonable explanation for how anyone can envision a scenario in which Congress does its job and opposes executive overreach. Or even acknowledges that the executive can overreach.

Remember this? A misunderstanding and next thing you know, @davidmccullough.bsky.social is the toast of Irish Bluesky. Before long, he's reposting Irish artists and learning Irish. All that could have happened for that other guy, but no, he had to make an ass out of himself.

The NYT has a longer story. I don't know how you can prevent a second infection in kids. The best we can do it make sure they're vaccinated. www.nytimes.com/2025/09/30/h...

So when people show up at ICE detention centers with signs that say "Mall Cops are Tougher Than You" is that going to constitute intimidation?

It will probably be more efficient if you make your "around the department" pic a pinned post. www.nytimes.com/2025/09/25/u...

So they read The Circle en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Cir... and thought it was a great idea? Good grief.

I get asked for political donations all the time. Before making one, I'll check this list I made. Those on Cook Political's list of competitive seats who didn't vote yes make the cut.

For anyone thinking "Sure, ABC deciding to cave to pressure from an autocrat is a [insert obscenity of your choice] disgrace, but how can I cancel Disney+ and Hulu? I've got little kids who watch Moana 5 times a week."

My friends, let me introduce you to the wonderful world of Ebay.

Schumer wants a 77 year old to challenge Collins. Right sure, because more Democratic octogenarians in the Senate is what rank and file Democrats want to see.

This bit captures the hypocrisy. The supposed champion of parental rights who wants to make decisions for everyone’s kids.

People on the left, New York Times on the right. The NYT has all those Pulitzers and yet the reporters at People do a better job conveying to their readers what the President is doing in DC.

Did you read it before sharing it? From the list of necessary ingredients Democrats have elected officials and not much else.

These posts from @andycraig.bsky.social and @thebulwark.com are fun in succession. I appreciate the attempt at optimism, but when the FBI is asked to arrest state legislators who haven't committed a crime, things are pretty bad.

5/6 of my nieces and nephews graduated last month. They got together for a siblings/cousins picture and I couldn’t love it more. One of them schlepped his robe all the way across the country. Cousins are awesome.

That there was a way to possibly save lives and it was dismissed, despite past tragedies, was bad enough. Then I got to this part. They live in place known as *Flash Flood Alley* ffs.
