100% of the posts I’ve seen offering help in the face of SNAP cuts have been from women. Women are more likely than men to donate to charity, and when they give, they give a larger % of their income than men. My latest for @thepersistent.bsky.social about mom mutual aid
When The Government Shutdown Came For SNAP, Women Stepped Up to Help
On Saturday, 42 million Americans are set to lose crucial food support. A grassroots mutual aid movement fueled by moms is springing into action.

Today alone there have been no fewer than 10 posts in the mom groups I'm in asking for or offering food assistance for the impending EBT/SNAP benefits ending. Moms helping moms feed their kids while the government builds ballrooms and buys jets. just saying.

“I want AI to do my laundry and dishes so that I can do art and writing, not for AI to do my art and writing so that I can do my laundry and dishes.” These stories show what happens when it’s the other way around. Great and necessary series
Freelance illustration gigs drying up. Ad agencies using Midjourney instead of hiring human artists. Costume design turned over to AI wholesale. Good work vanishing.

These are the stories of working visual artists, who describe losing jobs, wages, and hope as their clients and bosses embrace AI.
