Never bored. Quilts, yarn, linen, floss, needles, books.
I love well-written historical fiction. This is the first of the Lonesome Dove series--torturous trekking across desert terrain in the American West with encroaching Comanche and Apache (it was their land, after all). Lots of privation and sudden death. But it feels real and true. #booksky 💙📚

A new repro stitchery finish. This is CA Haire from Shakespeare’s Peddler. Very pleased with beautiful mounting and framing done by Lynn’s of Madison.

Finally read this hugely popular book. The first half—great subject, high marks. The second half went off the rails for me. Too many plot points in the mix; a couple events in particular really made me 🙄🙄🙄 And absolutely zero Vietnamese characters. Shouldn’t there be at least some?? 💙📚

Such an interesting counterpoint to The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn—James fills the reader in on all the drama and yearning in the life of Jim, the runaway enslaved person, and depicts him as a man of great stature and wisdom. Well deserving of every accolade it’s received. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A post-holiday resolution was to make something from the overflowing scrap bin. Voila--100 Rail Fence blocks. And the scrap bin after. Still overflowing.

Mini reunion. Carol, Linda, and me—the three of us sewed our way through the fashion design program at Mount Mary University many years ago. We never run out of things to talk about.

My daughter’s next door neighbors in DC. Probably a bit hard core for your purposes. I like your thinking. 👍💙
