I appreciate @annenberginstitute.bsky.social writing this great summary of my work on four-day school weeks.

While there may be some short-term cost savings, there are no effects on teacher, principal, or paraprofessional staff turnover.

In many large districts, I found that teachers five years into their careers have less purchasing power as renters and homebuyers than when they started. And, since 2019, the cost of rent skyrocketed by 51%, far surpassing novice teachers' 24% salary increase. See my full NCTQ report here 1/n
