And here again we find ourselves at significant crossroads where we choose where we stand. We choose to live in our humanity, or we choose to ignore suffering. Until we can't ignore it anymore and like a rising tide it consumes us all.

Most of us have lived through relative safety and peace. We have been soothed into complacency and apathy through our constant seeking of comfort.

This has always been a great part of our past. Supremacy, violence, pitting people against each other so the rich can exploit the masses. It is an old game. Through every time there have been hard fought battles for equality, rights, freedom, sovereignty, a place at the table.

We were told that our differences made us stronger. Yet, we are now demonizing differences. We are criminalizing inclusivity.

We are a nation of many refugees. Our ancestors often fled famine, war, violence, and political danger. Or they were brought here against their will. Here we came to what we were told was a melting pot.

You don't have to understand someone in order to respect their right to exist.
There is a war against humanity going on right now. It seeps in through the cracks and exploits our fears and our discomfort. It washes itself in the blood of our religions and warps the teachings for political purposes.

It is simply an expression of humanity. And one must destroy a part of one's own humanity to deny the lived experience of another.

These people are loving, kind, generous, beautiful souls. They are healers, teachers, artists, and others who care deeply about the world. They are innocent. Their existence, my existence, is not a danger to others.

No one should feel so unsafe from the words and actions of their government that they have to flee their home, the life they have built, and the ones they love.

So many of my trans and non-conforming clients and friends are seriously having to consider and make moves toward asylum and fleeing the country.

We have created that for so many people.

We have created a scapegoat out of our LGBTQIA+ peoples. When we create scapegoats, none of us are truly free and none of us are truly safe. When you make humans illegal, you are one step away from g-side.

They want people so desperate they are criminals. Often just through homelessness. The plan is incarcerated slave labor.

not letting women make health care choices and choices about their bodies is not healthy
making it harder for women to leave abusive relationships is not healthy
and no amount of horsepaste is going to change that.
