and, not to get too grand, but “crowd out instead of cut out” is just good life advice, far from the pantry. works for all kinds of changes we want to make.

It's a dress i will be able to wear to every wedding i am invited to forever and thus purchasing it is a cost saving measure (I am repeating this to myself while doing breathing exercises)

it's also hard for the reason kate articulates which is that actual health problems are an inevitability of having a body, and that your experience of them is mediated by your health anxiety to a point where they can't be clearly delineated. which will make u even more nuts than u already were

It’s humiliating to have to call your mom crying in the middle of the night because you’re convinced your dying of a blood clot when really you were just too spun out to drink water all day and now u have a Charlie horse lol

Health anxiety is hard to deal with in sort of the same way an eating disorder is. You have to confront the source of your fear every waking minute. I have had bouts of terrible hypochondria and more than any other bad brain problem I’ve dealt with I wouldn’t wish it on anyone

the only real difference i can identify is that men are more successful when attempting suicide and more likely to resort to violence, not that they have an objectively worse time of it. it's an issue of not being able to handle the same circumstances as everyone else, not an experiential difference
