Congress was denied entry to both the U.S. Department of Education and the Treasury, where Musk staffers blocked the doors. Along with its appropriations responsibilities, Congress holds oversight authority over federal agencies. Blocking congressional access to these agencies is illegal.

USAID.gov is down. Why is this concerning? Trump has no legal authority to eliminate a congressionally funded independent agency. The work of USAID is vital, and if this can happen to them, it can happen to any of us.

They are coming after educators and education because they know that learning, information sharing, and wisdom have the power to free us.

The federal government pausing grants is not only going to impact museums, but education, social services, etc. Additionally, all those private corporations that contract with these grant recipients. This is going to impact everyone.
