This was my old papa plant of a big fat poppy in my garden, done in ink and coloured in Photoshop.
Sadly this guy hugly misscalculated in a mild phase of last winter, thinking it´s spring already and never recoverd from it. But at least he left many kids in the garden.

I was only allowed to read the first page of the book as inspiration for this illustration, without knowing about the rest of the story
