We also find that echo chambers increase policy polarization. Being assigned to discuss in a homogeneous group, compared to a mixed group, entrenches partisans’ policy views. Conservatives become even more in favour of the policy, while Labour partisans become more opposed to it. 5/n

We find that being assigned to discuss in a partisan echo chamber, compared to a mixed group, increases affective polarization by around 5 points, or a quarter of a standard deviation.➡️ Echo chambers polarize! 4/n
