Many owners were shocked that their dogs loved me so much, and some gave me lots of kisses despite apparently not being kissy dogs. One was Rafah, who remembered meeting me last year and didn't want to leave, just plonked down on my feet for kisses. What a great day :)

Also hit up my neighbourhood dog costume parade! So many good costumes, so many good dogs, so many kisses (and one enthusiastic Pitbull who jumped up to lick my face and left me with what is starting to feel like a black eye)

The boys were extra affectionate yesterday. Jinx was giving me kisses, then Buster got jealous and wanted attention, so I had to run between them. Then King, usually very aloof, kept nuzzling and mouthing and licking my hand. Maybe they really love Halloween, those horses.

I walked Jinx for pony rides, and we had one adult woman get on and she kept saying how amazing it was, how magical, life-changing, she couldn't believe she was on a horse. It's such a privilege to share that with people. Horses really are magical. Just look at them :)

Yesterday we had a Halloween party at the barn and it was so much fun! So many families in cute costumes, free food, pony rides, and the Headless Horseman (Sean) looking at his phone, headlessly

I read this at my desk, choking back sobs; in the back of a cab, tears pouring down my face like the downpour outside. Reliving my own worst thing, a person exactly and not at all like Brock Turner. This is the book I want these men to read, to understand, to see themselves and be horrified.
