Our tentative agreement was ratified! Super proud of everyone in the @bcgeu.bsky.social, our time on the picket lines paid off. Thank you to our bargaining committee! And thinking of the @pea.org members who are still in the process of getting a fair deal from the employer.

Today was such a nice day on the picket line — beautiful fall weather and great people. I hope that our employer is able to make some progress in mediation. In the meantime, I'm proud to be in strike with @bcgeu.bsky.social.

Nice to spend time at the BCGEU rally today! @kellyrichmondbc.bsky.social I want to go back to work keeping the people of BC safe. EMCR is facing critical staffing shortages and our wages are not keeping up with the cost of living. @bcnewdemocrats.bsky.social

Please consider writing to your MLA along with Minister of Finance Brenda Bailey if you support striking BCGEU members. The BC Government estimates they'll spend $624 million on FIFA, but won't pay their workers a fair wage. My wages aren't keeping up with housing food and basic needs. #bc

I just emailed mayor & council about Marg Gardiner’s harmful motion to oppose harm reduction & decriminalization. The motion is going to Victoria City Council tomorrow. I encourage anyone who cares about saving lives & building safe communities to write to council today: mayorandcouncil@victoria.ca

First day of school, first day of strike action. Was great to spend time on the BCGEU picket line! How long will we strike for fair wages? As long as at takes! Thanks @bcgeu.bsky.social for everything you do to support us members!

I was especially disappointed in capital daily's little Del Manak fan club blurb. And I am beyond bummed about police in SD61 schools starting next week. Always appreciative of Stephen's foi-ing.

Loving this drizzly, misty late summer overgrown tangle.

In Victoria and had planned to go to Transfest? Check out Camas Books' event instead! Pizza and hangout at noon and an open mic at 6:30! In Quadra Village.

Wholesome! 💖🏳️‍⚧️🇵🇸

So many downed bollards on the Caledonia Ave bike lanes in Victoria. These three have been recently taken out, but it's like a weekly thing. Maybe we need concrete, but I am truly glad they exist, waaaay better than painted bike lane lines. #yyjbike

An effing SQUIRREL did this! To my first big tomato of the year! This was destined to be my first tomato sandwich. A Nepal. 😭 Omg I am so peeved hahahaha. It was holding it in its little squirrel hands!

Really glad I planted some flowers this year instead of just veggies! 🌱

Walk downtown: vintage treasures & community @ WIN, made music @ Artcade, kiwi soft serve @ St Cecilia, Papery & Regional Assembly of Text for notebooks & stickers, wandered Government, stopped by Fat Sisters, got splashed by the water fountain at Market Square, shared Chinatown memories. I ❤️ #yyj.

I hear from folks really worried about the dangers of living near supportive housing. I live across the street from 36 units of supportive housing & came home last night to find this in my porch — a gift & note from one of the residents. Housing & harm reduction aren't scary things to live close to.
