Are the movie exec geniuses aware that there are so so many Oz books? I am required to tell you this as a former resident of Aberdeen, SD, a town with a very Oz-heavy economy.

The bar is in HELL; folks I promise you do not have to praise corporate leaders after you’ve been laid off, even if they do you the “favor” of not immediately escorting you from the building

Gotta tell my neighbors their real estate agent apparently hates them

The Knollwood hack is parking in the back and walking through the open air corridor by TJ Maxx or the enclosed hall by the med supply place! Like Costco, not really saving steps but definitely saving sanity.
October 14, 2025 at 9:19 PM
The hack, of course, is entering via the Home Depot parking lot from the southwest. Only chumps turn directly into the Costco lot from Gamble Drive.

I should gatekeep this but there's enough cruelty in the world already. If anyone likes this I will also share the Knollwood hack.

My daughter’s friend dropped out so I had to take her place for the beading store reservation

Pics from my recent solo trip to war-ravaged Portland. Was lucky to escape with my life.

I am just contemplating the scale of hissy fit my children would throw if I tried to make them do COTILLION. I guess that’s how we know we’re not cotillion material.

Charles/MGH would have been his home stop but he was also a lovely walk from the Green Line at Arlington, Boylston or Park Street. Even allowing for some Midwestern rube-ishness, which I had as well, a young person in Boston quickly learns and appreciates the T!
July 18, 2025 at 4:30 PM
Unfortunately I can't let this go! Sean Duffy filmed The Real World: Boston in 1997 and I attended Emerson College from 2000- 2004 and lived blocks away from The Real World house. Sean Duffy would have ridden the T and it would have been a perfectly fine experience for him.

I feel like the Strib is deep diving in the wrong circle of the Venn diagram of “Prepper/ Evangelical with a fuckton of guns”

Hey happy anniversary of that week I drove down to Northfield like 3 or 4 times to help with my office branch flooding down there. I have since been laid off ✌️
June 22, 2025 at 3:08 PM
Bit of an oversimplification that the Strib’s post-mortem of the Lake Street comms whoopsie concludes “the MPD didn’t clarify until 12:40 and that was too late” and not “the entire city has learned not to believe a single thing the MPD says, at any time of day, ever.”

Was just searching my old Gmail account and came across this 2005 time capsule from when I was a year out of college and flailing. The networking thing remains true!
