Solstice and the last night of Hanukkah - we will light all the candles tonight and celebrate the return of the sun. It is a very big deal.

I had my grand nieces here for Seder, and the 7 year old read the Jane Kenyon poem we start with to light memorial candles and there was not a dry eye in the room. Love those girls

It allows me to include the friendship bracelet crew. But we knit, embroider, needlepoint, cross stitch and macrame - they make stuff and they talk as if I’m not there which is illuminating.

Old timey stuff is timeless - I’ve got the fiber arts Middle school interest group. Love just listening to student talking and creating
