Anyway I spent most of today outside & much of it with my kids and we are extremely fortunate but I still feel like I, and they, were robbed of so much. Knowing how other families are being impacted by SNAP, ICE or other preventable tragedies makes it almost worse, when we are so safe. For now.

My 4-y-o setting an example for all of us: made a new friend at the library and they are building a train track set together. The track was jumbled up and he offered, “every problem has a solution, let’s find it, ok?”

Last year, by my own casual observation & from meteorologists’ accounts, we had only two weeks of true winter weather here in MI (we also just downgraded from zone 5b to 6a). This morning we finally had a dusting of snow and the kids are out playing in it 🥹
