There's a scam going around claiming you have traffic tickets and asking you to pay the NCDMV to avoid consequences. Look closely at the URL. That's fake. Be careful out there.

Happy #FOIAFriday. You know what that means: I go through my list of overdue records requests and give agencies a nudge if I haven't heard from them. notiFOIA's automated emails makes this task so much easier.

When you're trying to crack a PDF to Excel, and Tabula, Pinpoint, Cometdocs and Excel's "import data from PDF" doesn't work, you can import a PICTURE of your data and it does a pretty fine job of recognizing the text.

After the IRE conference I decided I needed to organize my records requests in a sane way. I created notiFOIA, which emails me once a week if a records request is overdue. It's a great nudge to reconnect with agencies when we're looking for documents.
