“We are, each of us, largely responsible for what gets put into our brains, for what, as adults, we wind up caring for and knowing about. No longer at the mercy of the reptile brain, we can change ourselves.”

It’s the most riveting book I’ve ever read.

RFC planes were shot down or crashed and British POWs were taken to German prison camps during WWI. They quickly comprised schemes of escape to Holland, neutral territory.

Their perseverance, tenacity and brilliance is admirable.

Fam, remember three years ago when Cory Booker brought tears to all of our eyes when he lifted up Ketanji Brown Jackson?

“You are worthy.”

That’s who he is. That’s who he’s always been.

“Gatsby-era noir at its best.” - Erik Larson

This is the true story of George Remus, a former lawyer turned brilliant bootlegger who once owned 35% of all liquor in the United States. George Remus’s opulent lifestyle inspired F. Scott Fitzgerald’s Jay Gatsby!

It’s a true story as if The Great Gatsby meets Ocean’s Eleven at the turn of the 20th century. Arthur Barry was so suave and brazen, I couldn’t put it down. One of the best I ever read.

StoryGraph is a great Black, woman-owned, easy to navigate app that tracks your library and pages and doesn’t share your data with third parties. There’s a nifty Recommendations section I got Braiding Sweetgrass from. 🫶🏻 #BookSky #Books #Bookworm #reader

Easily on my Top Ten list. It made me laugh and oh, did it make me cry. It feels like your uncle telling you family lore at Thanksgiving - it has fond memories, bittersweet moments, comedy, tragedy, love, acceptance, and perseverance. #BookSky #Books
