Book 30: The Lord of Rings: The Two Towers. It was great. Time to honor Samwise Gamgee with Po-Tae-Toes!

Book 29: Today will be Different by Maria Semple- I got reading déjà vu while reading this book. I didn’t overly enjoy the mc for reasons that are difficult to describe with a limited character count. #tbrlist #bookdragon #fiction

Book 28: The Woman in Suite 11. I wanted to like this book more than I did. I loved the first book in this duo. I felt like she wrote herself into a corner with this book. The ending was so rushed. That being said, it wasn’t a bad ending.

Book 27: Lord of the Rings: the Fellowship of the Ring- I read this book with my ears 😂 I was able to rent the version with Andy Serkis narrating, and it was stellar. Tolkien was such a great story teller and world builder. I clearly rewarded myself with watching the extended cut this weekend.

Book signing event was so much fun! I can’t wait to read this book

Book 26: Icebreaker by Hannah Grace. I liked this book more that I thought I was going to. Cute little romance. I could have done without the epilogue.

Book 25: Rebecca by Daphne Du Maurier. It’s not a bad book, it just isn’t me. She has great (GREAT) imagery, but I found the characters very flat and the ending unsatisfying and very predictable.

Problematic Summer Romance by Ali Hazelwood. I couldn’t put this dang thing down. Slow burn romance. I wasn’t expecting that it would make me cry either.

Book 23: My Best Friend’s Honeymoon- Meryl Wilsner. This was a cute, queer, mildly spicy 🌶️ romance. I didn’t enjoy one of MCs. #tbr #bookdragon #bookworm #queerbooks #romance #summerread

Book 22: The Book of Lost Things- John Connolly. I enjoyed this book more than I thought I was going to. For me, this was Big Fish crossed with Once Upon a Time. My favorite part was the communist dwarves. I needed the comic relief. #bookdragon #tbr #fairytales #darkfantasy

Book 21: I ate this book up! I really enjoyed the setting and the characters. I was listening to the audio version, and I think I might have done better with actually reading the book, just because I was so curious in the other houses and wished I was able to take notes 😆

Book 20: The only thing that is remotely redeemable about this is the recipes, which would probably turn out okay. And they have midwestern shortcuts (which is fine, but if you like to bake from scratch. it’s meh.) I was hoping for slightly better since the main character owns a freaking bakery…

Book 19: Bury Our Bones in the Midnight Soil by V.E. Schwab- 10/10 no notes. Perfection in the way only a toxic lesbian vampire book can be. #tbr #queerbooks #vampires #bookworm

Book 18: “Big Little Lies” by Liane Moriarty. I am so mad that I let this book sit on my shelf for so long. This book was so good. I loved the combination of humor and mystery. #bookworm #mystery #comedy #tbr

Book 16: The Cruel Prince by Holly Black. This is one of the slowest books I have read. I liked the plot enough that I will continue the main trilogy. I’m not really enjoying any of the main characters, so I’m hoping for more character development. Wish me luck!

Book 15: The Other Einstein- Marie Benedict. I really enjoyed this book. I am a huge historical fiction reader (Thank you Fever 1793). It scratches the inner scientist itch, I have inside. I love how the book is structured with Newtons Laws. #booknerd #scientist #history

Book 14: As Good As Dead (Final book in AGGGTM). This book is, hands down, the best book in the trilogy. I brought back some of the comedy from the first book. They are all tied together, but I think the pay off is worth it for this book #murdermystery #trillers #bookworm #tbr

Book 13: The Missing Half. These authors wrote this story with amazing imagery. I can’t say much more because I don’t trust myself to not give away the ending. I can’t wait to discuss during book club at the end of the month. 💯 will be re-reading this again. #mystery #booklist

Book 11: This Book is Gay by Juno Dawson. Happy Pride month! Everyone (LGBTQ+, allies, etc… whether you are new or old) NEEDS TO READ THIS BOOK. I am so upset that this book sat on my shelf for 2+ years. #pridemonth #lgbtq

Book 10: A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder. Did I buy this after watching the Netflix series? Yes. Do I like the book better? Yes. It’s still an entertaining read and mystery. #bookworm #mystery #bookstonetflix

Book 9: The Nightingale. I love historical fiction and this book is wonderful. The imagery 🤌 some of her passages. I literally don’t have enough space to say all that I want to. Only critique: no TW for SA. #bookworm #historicalfiction #WWII

Book 8: Jurassic Park. Maybe it’s because I have been obsessed with dinosaurs for the past 10 years or so, but this is definitely one of my favorite books now. #booklover #dinosaurs #jurassic #lifefindsaway

Book 7: The Last Unicorn! I absolutely loved this movie when I was a kiddo and was so excited to see it at my used bookstore. I could see the movie while reading this book. So much nostalgia #readinglist #fantasy #unicorns #magic

Book 6: Wrecked and Rising. A Beach side romance with a light touch of mystery tied in. This book is one book out of a series that can be read in any order. I had the pleasure of meeting this author at Indie Bookstore Day. #romancebooks #indiebooks #localauthors
