Q: did I really quit my job to write books?

A: that wasn't the only reason, but it was among them, yes

Q: have I done this before? Do I know what I'm doing?

A: this isn't my first book, but this is the first I have hopes will see the light of day. So... no.

With the way my life is right now I probably won't even get to fly domestically before those are phased out. A girl can dream, though!

(I still have the KLM house thing you gave me on my desk 🙂)

First DNF of the year: Marlon James's "Black Leopard, Red Wolf." Either I'm just not in the right place for this one at the moment, or it's an intentionally-confusing book where everyone speaks entirely in riddles, and also it's completely about genitalia.

3: Caroline O'Donoghue's "The Rachel Incident" (fiction, 2023). 4/5. I think I just really like books about messy, morally-reprehensible 20-something women in non-American settings.
