Today we're looking back at our work on Sunderland's High St. West. Beginning as a small drapery business, people in the NE remember Binns department stores. Winter has long been linked with ghosts. C19 NE folklorists also saw late December as haunting season, noting that Co. Durham was on high alert for ghosts from St Thomas' Eve until Christmas Eve, when they returned to the spirit realm. If St Mary's had ghosts, we'd be sure they have stories to tell!
