When you accidentally dress in camouflage for a film festival...

Sadly my little black beastie died last year. I also had his brother, a tabby, who I lost early this year. Cats make the best & most distracting research assistants. (Big gaps in my life!)

Here's our amazing working group.

Today Jupiter's remains colame home. My beautiful boys are back together after six months. My heat breaks, but I'm so lucky to have loved these boys. 💔

My beautiful stripey boy, Jupiter, has gone to be with his brother. It's not even been six months. I can't quite believe it. It feels so very unfair.

One of the benefits of getting a feral farm cat at Halloween is that Jupes is pretty unfazed by fireworks. (His brother was the same). It's 8 years since I met my gorgeous & exacting boy.

Jupiter would like you to know that the standards set out in his service level agreement are not being met. For one, it's hammering down with rain outside. This is clearly my fault.

If anyone is into circus history. I think I'm one of the few people on here who are, then Bristol Archives also have 3 'temporary' circus plans from the 1880s. Here's one... And, by temporary, I still mean with a gaslight chandelier! #culture archives.bristol.gov.uk/records/Buil...

If you're a Bristolian, then it's fascinating seeing some of his sketches of things you can't visit now. Clifton Rocks Railway anyone...? archives.bristol.gov.uk/records/3141...

When you call up a diary & realise they really did mean it was illustrated & you'd kind of forgotten. My jaw slightly hit the floor. For anyone interested in how someone navigated 1890s Bristol culture, then Harry Bow's diaries are a potential goldmine! archives.bristol.gov.uk/records/31416

Quite relieved this boy is being sensible and avoiding the heatwave by sitting with me.

About to leave this little one for a few days of conferencing. It's the first time I've been away overnight since his brother died. I'm looking forward to seeing people but a little worried about him.

Jupiter reminding me to take it gently by example & lying on my legs.

I joined here less than a week ago & it's been odd because I'm grieving Brian, who died a week ago. I couldn't bear him not being here. So here he is, the cat who charmed the vets right up until the end of his short little life. (He has a brother, so you'll still see a cat from time to time).
