Fed here. I cried at my desk when I got to the part about CDC's return to the office after the shooting. Really just a devastating piece of writing.

I’m here for the cater waiter lurking ominously behind him.

Michael Shannon, this is your moment.

It really bothered me, too, and I'm so accustomed to his bullshit that I usually just roll my eyes. Haven't quite been able to put my finger on why.

Apparently someone 'round these parts drives a gold cybertruck. Truly, peak automotive obnoxiousness has now been achieved, and everyone out there who still has flames painted on their hood or "My pug can beat up your honor student" bumper stickers can just pack up and go home now.

I just came across more pictures. I take it back. That bathroom is almost hilariously tacky.

Okay, I have to admit that I laughed at the "very appropriate" bit. I guess if this Presidential gig doesn't pan out, DT can apply his prodigious talent and energy to the field of interior design...and I actually think that this may be one of his lesser crimes against taste.

If you’ve read this far, may your coffee always be hot and your pillow always be cool! Anyway, am I overlooking any obvious information sources?

I’m thinking real estate records, although those wouldn’t necessarily include Dad’s name — but they would establish when the family bought the house, which, in combination with 1960 Census data, might be enough for my purposes, since Dad was a child then.

The 1960 census info isn’t widely available yet. I could apply for access but they are, of course, closed for the duration.🙄

I have an address where I think he lived starting sometime in the 1950s, but as of the 1950 census the family hadn’t moved there yet. I looked up the address on newspapers.com but any mention of the address wasn’t connected to a name (it was mostly real estate listings from the 1970s).

Placing him in St. Louis is easy — grab a couple of his HS yearbooks and call it a day. Unfortunately, his HS, a private school, closed some years back and is not in the magic ZIP. The grade school I’m pretty sure he attended likewise no longer exists. 2/
