Happy National Coming Out Day from Olivia, Eden, and me. Wherever you are in your coming out journey, I hope you’re safe and hope you’re finding yourself in the stories around you.

Still feeling over-the-moon proud of my sister, Nora Fussner, who debuted last night at The White Whale Bookstore with her spooky novel, THE INVISIBLE WORLD.

My dog does not care one single Milkbone about my deadline. She wants what she wants when she wants it (in this case, all my attention, right now).

Tomorrow marks 3 months since TSOU came out in the world. Grateful for every reader who has given Olivia and Eden the chance, who has sat with the messy imperfections of middle school kids, who has felt nostalgic for first love and first heartbreak, who has told me as much. O&E, I'm proud of you.

I’ve got some new followers here, so a quick introduction: I’m Kate (she/her), and I write books for queer kids and fat kids with big feelings. My mg novel-in-verse, THE SONG OF US, came out in May with HarperCollins and is an “Orpheus and Eurydice” retelling in 7th grade.

Someone reopened the cut on her chin and is now very unhappy to be back in the cone of shame.

Weasley doesn’t know a thing about blue skies. This summer has been all rain. (Sorry if you followed me for content other than kidlit, dogs, or screaming about Drag Race. That’s really all I’m good for.)
