Outer robe is done!! The belt is just pinned here to see how it looks, but I'm sooooo happy with the outer layer. Now I just need to finish the belt and style the wig (and make 4 fish babies)... I can't wait to wear him at ALA

Side openings sewn shut using a bobbin that matches the lining & top thread that matches the shell! I also cut excess lining to minimize bulk, then rolled & pressed the hem. Now it's ready to be hand sewn!

Li Yu's outer robe is almost done!! I slipstitched the front opening of the robe to the lining, then pinned & basted the side openings. Next I'm going to mark & remove excess from the hem, then machine stitch the side openings, then hem and add a closure!!

Bought some surprise Kandi bags from @malytwotails.com at BLFC today because I want more in my wardrobe, and not only did she invite me to find her to make some later, but I also pulled her golden ticket for a cuff?? So I guess I'm seeing her again tomorrow!

Quite enjoyed running around in my hooves today after BLFC, and I grabbed some ears to go with my new tail!

A group of us threw a surprise 1920s murder mystery party for a dear friend and I had SO MUCH FUN. One of the best parts was just how almost euphoric it felt to dress up in this costume.

The outer robe is almost done!! Bodice fishies have been sewn on and now I'm on to sewing up the bottom panels via a ladder stitch. It's easy to do while watching TV, which is great, and once the panels are mostly sewn I can then hem it and attach a small closer that will be hidden under the belt.

One fish has been sewn on! It's a slow process (took 3 or 4 sessions, 30min to an hour each) but I'm so pleased with the finished look. Onto the next!

Been a while but I got a chance to work on Li Yu! Current completion goal: ALA.
Sewn sleeves & the collar, now I'm slowly sewing the fish appliques to the bodice! I waited to do this until I had the collar, sleeves, & some lining in just to confirm placement.
Also, it looks so cute with the belt!

My shift and stays are done!! I'm so pleased with how my first properly boned foundation piece turned out. Now I just need to play with the drawstring in my shift neckline to make the shoulders sit where I want them to....

Belt is almost done!! I used the poly chiffon from my under robe, some lace for detail, leftover turquoise silk taffeta from a commission, and a poly taffeta for the center band of the belt (faced in the same red as my main robe).

Gonna be wearing another unicorn look at @hollandreno.bsky.social's summer event this evening and I can't WAIT. I made a sleeve for my cane and covered it in flowers to turn it into a proper magical walking staff, too!
