An 8 year old told me my “I ❤️ NPR” shirt is “slay” today, so I think that’s a win all around

Today I saw an elderly man fall in a grocery store. He took a minute to get back on his feet and didn’t want anyone to make a fuss. He was worried he’d be fired from his job as a cart porter…concerned that he would be found out and lose his livelihood. I want to not live in a dystopian hellscape.

Driving home tonight, I was listening to Neil Young and winding down after a long day. A small voice came from the backseat saying “there’s only darkness in front of us.” I agreed. I hope there’s a light out there somewhere, but for now it looks pretty dark ahead.

I hope this bluesky thing pans out and someone comes up with an alternative to Facebook with the events functionalities. I am still hesitant to fully jump ship because that’s my link to school events, kids extracurriculars, community events, and small business info.
