BREAKING: LAUSD Superintendent Alberto Carvalho says there are currently “federal vans” parked within blocks of two public schools. He did not name which ones. Carvalho - who came to the US undocumented - said “every student has a constitutional right to a public education.”

Now that voters have chosen to increase penalties for drug possession and retail theft with the passage of Prop 36, Los Angeles County Sheriff Robert Luna says there is no room at local jails for more inmates.

UPDATE: The jury sided with the scenario painted by Los Angeles County lawyers in the latest trial over deputy gangs, that Larry Waldie’s lawsuit revealed a rivalry between two separate tattooed deputy factions: the Executioners vs the Gladiators.

This should be a story about sanctity of life, rule of law and white supremacy. Instead, it’s a story about the meaninglessness of modern political labels.
