I knocked out a few of the other slats to get all the mirror glass out. Luckily the OG glass was rectangular not arched so that makes the replacement a bit less complex, and obvi it’ll need a new back board. I fully and thoroughly stabilized its replacement mirror before putting it in place 😝

The backboard was rough cut pine slats attached horizontally with the original nails. Given the mirror glass was the 1/4” thick typically seen in this era, I don’t blame the bottom flat for declaring gravitational defeat!

That’s my theory! (Though really I should have thought to reinforce the bottom of the backboard. I’d never seen a mirror fail like that but it makes sense that it could. Lesson learned 🫠

I agree. They will feel nothing from the resultant lawsuits and thus there is no motivation for these domestic terrorists to stop the attempted murders. Make an example out of these violent thugs AND sue for trillions!
