Welsh, but lived in the Manchester area for over half my life, spent a lot of that time being a social worker.

Travel, cats, reading, music (mostly gigs these days) and walking the Welsh Coastal Path, always bring a welcomed conversation.

Then there’s the more obvious legal literacy, empowering people to make choices & change, through our values driven practice. These are just words, I often think examples better illustrate good social work in NHS settings. Culture of care = I guess written by a social worker. It’s social work.

Briefly, there’s something about bringing a counterbalanced view to the medical model, thinking about people in their families/communities/the system, using collaborative & relational practices and awareness of types and use of power, aiming for redress & balance where it’s needed.
