After the @altuk.bsky.social conference, I sat down to write a blog post, but quickly decided to write about all of the events this past year: kate-molloy.net/open-practic...

Special thanks to @slowtech2000.bsky.social, @eam0.bsky.social, and James Brunton for all the support throughout the year.

At the 'Education after the algorithm' symposium,
@slowtech2000.bsky.social and I facilitated a workshop on sustainability literacies in postdigital learning design with the intent to develop an OER of curated zines. We're so pleased to finally share the video and documents: doi.org/10.6084/m9.f...

The @civicsoftech.bsky.social Project host a wonderful annual conference that is online, free, and provides a welcoming space for critical discussion on ed tech. I'm delighted to present again this year, and strongly encourage others to join. www.civicsoftechnology.org/2025conference

Managed to make it one piece to #OER25 in London this week. I was on hand to deliver a workshop developed with @slowtech2000.bsky.social and assist with workshop on @altuk.bsky.social Framework for Ethical Learning Technology.

I was in Zurich last week for the first European Conference on Critical Edtech Studies. I was fortunate to present on some early PhD work, make new connections, and enjoy the city and surrounds. Sincere thanks to the organisers for hosting, and for bringing this valuable community together. #ECCES

Landed in Zurich today for the European Conference on Critical EdTech Studies and managed to fulfil of my teenage dreams - visiting the birthplace of Dadaism at Cabaret Voltaire. I spent a few hours looking at the exhibits, reading in the Dada Library, and immersing myself in the space. #ECCES

The @iltasky.bsky.social EdTech conference is a calendar highlight. I'll be sharing some collective thoughts on critical and creative practice informing research. I'm looking forward to @jenr.bsky.social's keynote and catching up with friends, both old and new. ilta.ie/edtech-2025/...

A memories notification just popped up with these photos of a card from my students when I finished my last teaching post ten years ago today. I'll always be proud of my experience as a teacher and how valuable it has been as I endeavour to support teaching and learning in higher ed.

I went to see @thevaselines.bsky.social tonight in Galway and it was the kind of joy I sorely, sorely needed. Thank you Frances and Eugene for all you have given us. 💚

I've been avoiding social media at conferences lately. We will share an OER of our zines created during the workshop soon. Here is a quick teaser of some of them below. Full abstract: www.conftool.org/eaa2025/inde...

Also, have to agree with @bonstewart.bsky.social as the vibes were great.

Their discussion around renewable assignments and resources led me to dig up my now 20 year old class wiki where my students developed collaborative resources and assignments while developing research and information literacy skills. It was a bit crude as it was my first year teaching (2005-2006).

Finally created my badge for the Education After the Algorithm symposium starting tomorrow. Looking forward to the #CSET2025 meeting and a workshop with @slowtech2000.bsky.social, 'Embedding Sustainability Literacies in Postdigital Learning Design'.

It was lovely to join students on the MA in E-Learning Design and Development in MTU yesterday evening to talk about the influence of OEP on my learning design practice. It was a really useful activity for me, and I sincerely hope the students enjoyed it!

I was in Connecticut for the week and made it to my favourite independent bookshop, R.J. Julia in Madison. I only bought these two books by @ruha9.bsky.social, of which I already own digital copies, but I couldn’t resist it. I’ll have to get them signed someday, like Race after Technology.
