Don’t forget … this is the same president who watched from right down the street and FOR HOURS did NOT call in the National Guard on January 6th as the Capitol was being ransacked and Congress people and the VP were being hunted and democracy was at stake.

In Leaving behind Dei initiatives that have widened the scope of possible candidates to include ALL the qualified talent, rather that SOME of the qualified talent, What are we saying to these kids?

Who is so afraid of our potential as a society, where all people approach their potential.

I would argue that as individuals develop their expertise in areas of innate talent, rather than pursuing some other gendered endeavor, actually doesn’t weaken the qualifications or the applicant pool, but instead strengthens both.

to its greatest extent, and would have stable, solid, fulfilling employment. AND SHE WAS ENCOURAGED BY US AND HER TEACHERS AND HER SOCIETY, that despite the very short and shallow history of minorities in STEM, if she works hard it will pay off, Because there will be opportunity for her.

As I mentioned, This kid has many interests and talents and could have probably done anything - been a singer, a writer, an artist, an analyst, a critic, a philosopher, a teacher. I believe she chose this path because she knew she could make both a difference, use her talent and her brain to

She is now a double major in physics and mathematics with nearly perfect grades over 14 years of her education. She works her ASS off.

This child showed a propensity for math at an early age but dismissed it for reading, art and creative writing for many years. She didn’t lean into it until she began to notice how hard math was for other kids and was persuaded that she had a talent, aptitude for it and could succeed
